After military service, moved to England. Created illustrations in England (about 2 years)
After returning to France, worked as a copper plate painter and illustrator (until around 1843).

1845 Selected for Salon for etching (print). After that, he was selected several times as a printmaker.
Around this time, I met Millet.
1849 Moved to Babilzon to escape the cholera epidemic. He lives in the house next door to Millet.
After that, including livestock and agriculture, the main theme was livestock.
1854 Leaves the village of Barbizon
1861 Exhibits paintings for the first time at the Salon. After that, mainly animal paintings
